6.61

「何況方便於彼火宅而拔濟」者，第二、況也。上明直令諸子得出火難全其軀命，尚已非虛，況方便說有三車令得免難而有虛耶？前據實益故已是不虛，況長者心實豈是虛耶？

Regarding "how much more so when he used upāya to rescue them from that burning house!": this is the second part, the illustration. Above, it explained that if he simply caused the children to escape the peril of the fire and preserve their physical lives intact, that would already not be false; how much more so when he expediently spoke of having three carriages to enable them to avoid the peril—how could there be falsehood? Previously, based on real benefit, it was already not false; how much more so when the elder's intention was real—how could it be false?
