7.127

「我等二人亦共汝作」者，二乘不能離文求理，籍教詮理方能斷結，則教有助智斷結之功，為共作義也。於四緣中是增上緣。

"We two will also work together with you": the two vehicles cannot seek the principle apart from the texts, and rely on the teachings to express the principle before they can cut off defilements; thus the teachings have the function of assisting wisdom in cutting off defilements, which is the meaning of "working together." Among the four conditions, this is the predominant condition (adhipati-pratyaya).
