目連乃是聲聞之中根悟入大乘，未必勝於迦葉，故入中根之數也。
Maudgalyāyana was of medium capacity among the śrāvakas who awakened and entered the Mahāyāna, and was not necessarily superior to Kāśyapa; hence [the others also] enter the count of medium capacity.
