此皆是去悟一乘近遠義耳。大意明悟一乘善根凡有三品：一者下品善根去悟一乘理遠如向國，中品善根去悟一乘理稍近如到城，上品善根與理交接如至舍也。

These all illustrate the proximity or distance of awakening to the ekayāna. The general meaning explains that the wholesome roots for awakening to the ekayāna have three grades in all: first, the lower-grade wholesome roots are far from awakening to the principle of the ekayāna, like heading toward the country; the medium-grade wholesome roots are somewhat closer to awakening to the principle of the ekayāna, like arriving at the city; and the higher-grade wholesome roots join with the principle, like reaching the house.
