7.95

「住立門側」者，始未信受如住，終必當行如立，未有大機不堪受大教如門側也。「遙見其父」者，第二、正明子見父。始未信受如門側，終有悟大如遙見。「其父」者，上序能見之機，今出所見事也。

"Stopped and stood beside the gate": not initially believing and accepting is like stopping; ultimately bound to practice is like standing; not yet possessing the great capacity and unable to receive the great teaching is like being beside the gate. "Saw his father from afar": the second part properly explains the son seeing the father. Not initially believing and accepting is like being beside the gate; ultimately having awakening to the Great [Vehicle] is like seeing from afar. "His father": the above recounted the capacity capable of seeing, and now presents the object that was seen.
