第二、別明三草二木。即為五段：初一行，明小草；次二行，明中草；次一行，明上草；次一行半，明小樹；後一行半，明大樹也。「佛平等說」下一行半，第二、明理一而隨眾生得益有異，即兼合上第七第八同異譬也。

Second, specifically explaining the three grasses and two trees. This consists of five sections: the first single line explains the small grass; the next two lines explain the middle grass; the next single line explains the upper grass; the next one and a half lines explain the small tree; the final one and a half lines explain the large tree. From "The Buddha speaks impartially" onward, one and a half lines, is the second [division]: explaining that while the principle is one, the benefits obtained differ according to sentient beings, which concurrently applies the seventh and eighth parables of identity and difference above.
