8.111

上合雲雨明同義，故云「其法一味解脫涅槃」；次合受潤明三草二木差別異，今欲論其同異義也。明理唯有一，隨五種人故有五種異也。

Above, applying the cloud and rain explained the meaning of identity, hence saying: "Its Dharma is of one flavor: liberation and nirvāṇa." Next, applying receiving moisture explained the distinctive differences among the three grasses and two trees; now it intends to discuss their meaning of identity and difference. It clarifies that the principle is solely one, but according to the five kinds of people there are five kinds of differences.
