「第二第三第四說法時」下，第三、明多會說法。然彌勒有三會者，度釋迦餘殘三根眾生也。於釋迦佛持五戒人，初會得道；受三歸人，次會得道；一稱南無佛人，三會得道。復有獨與彌勒結緣，更為說法，不止局於三會，今四會說法類此可知。就文亦二：初、明說法；次、辨悟道，文處易知也。

From "At the time of the second, third, and fourth expoundings of the Dharma" onward is the third [part], clarifying the expounding of the Dharma in multiple assemblies. Now, that Maitreya has three assemblies is to deliver the remaining sentient beings of the three capacities left by Śākyamuni. For those who upheld the five precepts under Śākyamuni Buddha, they attain the Path at the first assembly; those who received the three refuges attain the Path at the next assembly; those who uttered "Homage to the Buddha" once attain the Path at the third assembly. Furthermore, there are those who exclusively formed a connection with Maitreya, for whom he additionally expounds the Dharma, not being limited to the three assemblies; that there are four assemblies expounding the Dharma here can be understood by analogy with this. Regarding the text, there are also two [parts]: First, clarifying the expounding of the Dharma; next, distinguishing awakening to the Path; the places in the text are easy to know.
