9.53

三聞始了則有各累之深，故偏說也。又三根聲聞皆應悔過自責，但欲轉勢彰過，故三種不同也。

Hearing it three times before finally understanding involves a profound burden for each, and so it is stated specifically [of them]. Furthermore, the śrāvakas of all three capacities ought to repent their errors and reproach themselves, but in order to vary the presentation to make the errors manifest, the three kinds are made distinct.
