1.71

二周說初皆放眉間白豪光明，上不以頂、下不以足。放眉間光明者，表二周之說皆明中道法也。初周明一道清淨，一道清淨即是中道；第二周明一法身，一法身亦是中道。然法身更無有二，隨義立名，故知二周皆明中道也。

At the beginning of each of the two cycles of preaching, he emitted ūrṇā-raśmi from between his eyebrows, neither upward from his crown nor downward from his feet. Emitting light from between his eyebrows indicates that the teachings of both cycles clarify the Dharma of the Middle Way. The first cycle clarifies the purity of the single path, and the purity of the single path is precisely the Middle Way; the second cycle clarifies the single dharmakāya, and the single dharmakāya is also the Middle Way. Yet the dharmakāya has no duality; names are established according to the meaning. Therefore we know that both cycles clarify the Middle Way.
