說處標淨、穢，淨、穢可定知，說時有短、長，聖、凡不可准，一會機宜有利有鈍，長時短時如何定准？故處可定說，而時但總言「一時」。

The location of preaching indicates pure or defiled, and pure or defiled can be definitively known; the time of preaching has short and long, which cannot be measured between noble and ordinary: within a single assembly, capacities include sharp and dull, so how could a long or short time be definitively measured? Therefore, the location can be definitively stated, whereas the time is merely collectively stated as "at one time."
