釋名者，分身能寂俱號「如來」，妙用無方曰「神」，威勢能摧為「力」。分身等佛各現妙用莫可方比，威勢能摧邪見不信以勸生信。如來神力此品廣明，名如來神力品。

Explaining the title: The emanations and the Muni are together called 'Tathāgata.' Wondrous function without limits is called 'divine' (jin); awe-inspiring power capable of crushing is called 'power' (li). The emanation buddhas and others each manifest wondrous functions that cannot be compared, and their awe-inspiring power can crush wrong views and disbelief so as to encourage the generation of faith. The divine powers of the Tathāgata are broadly illuminated in this chapter; hence it is named 'Chapter on the Divine Powers of the Tathāgata.'
