解妨難者，依論此品既明淨土十方佛集，何故不以為品名？答：因塔上昇希開，必召佛集、將安諸佛，所以變為淨土。塔現為因方有佛集變為淨土，證經為驗，唯在見塔，故以為名。問：何故不於淨土為二乘說，說已證法方有淨土？答：欲顯二乘後迴趣大，初在穢方後居淨土。

Resolving difficulties: According to the Treatise, since this chapter clarifies the pure lands and the gathering of buddhas of the ten directions, why is it not named after them? Answer: Because the stūpa ascended into the air and was desired to be opened, it necessarily summoned the gathering of buddhas to accommodate them, which is why the worlds were transformed into pure lands. The manifestation of the stūpa served as the cause, and only then was there the assembly of buddhas and transformation into pure lands; the proof for the sūtra lies solely in seeing the stūpa, hence it was made the name of the chapter. Question: Why was the Dharma not expounded to the two vehicles in a pure land, so that only after expounding and witnessing the Dharma was there a pure land? Answer: To show that the two vehicles later turn toward the Great [Vehicle], being initially in a defiled direction and later dwelling in a pure land.
