The Commentary says: This is a metaphor for the view of individuality. Innate view of individuality operates constantly from beginningless time; therefore, they are called 'tall and large.' Those that are intellectually formed are associated with unwholesome natures, lack of shame, and lack of conscience, metaphorically compared to being 'naked.' Nakedness conveys exposure, because of having no shame. Being covered by ignorance is called 'black'; being confused and lacking correct principle is called 'emaciated.' Firmly clinging to the five aggregates without ever pausing for a moment is called 'constantly dwelling within.' Various afflictions arise on account of this, and the grasping of self-proclamations arises because of this, which is called 'uttering evil sounds.' Extensively giving rise to and growing the view of self everywhere is like 'wailing and crying out, seeking food.'
