Second, from "Hence the Great..." downward, citing corroboration. At the ultimate stage of marvelous enlightenment, where the two graspings at person and phenomena are completely exhausted, the one thousand provisional designations all become the four virtues and are named the unsurpassable sentient beings. The two thousand aggregates of circumstantial [and direct retribution] are each and every one the four virtues and are named the unsurpassable real phenomena. Hence, in the partial and small as well as the perfect, the causal stages are all nothing other than the originally natured unsurpassable person and phenomena; it is only because the two graspings are not yet exhausted that their cultivated attainment is not yet named unsurpassable.
