第四、明刀杖難者，亦為三：一、貼文，二、約證，三、觀釋。貼文為三：一、遭難即是苦，二、稱名即是善，三、應。

Fourth, clarifying the peril of knives and staves, which also has three parts: first, adhering to the text; second, according to verification; third, contemplative explanation. Adhering to the text has three parts: first, encountering the peril, which is suffering; second, invoking the name, which is good; third, the response.
