The treatise says: Below this is the second [section], the reiterative verses. Within this, the compiler of the sūtra first introduces them. Within the verses proper, there are seven lines of verses, containing two parts: the first six verses reiterate [the points] individually; the last one reiterates them in general. The first also contains two: first, two verses and one line reiterate the preceding brief presentation; second, three verses and three lines reiterate the subsequent extensive explanation. In the brief presentation it was said: Because the wisdom-ground of all buddhas enters the determinate nature of the real dharma-characteristic, their skillful means and spiritual penetrations are all signless benefit. Now, in these verses, the first verse reiterates this. Furthermore, it said that the definitive meaning of the one awakening is difficult to understand and difficult to enter, down to speaking of the single taste to all sentient beings that can be saved. Now, in these verses, this is reiterated with three meanings: namely, the first line is the verse of the Dharma explanation; the next two lines are the verse introducing the metaphor; the latter two lines are the verse applying the metaphor.
