經曰　大力菩薩言：「如彼一地及與空海，二乘之人為不見也。」佛言：「如是。彼二乘人味著三昧、得三昧身，於彼空海一地，如得酒病惛醉不醒，乃至數劫猶不得覺，酒消始悟方修是行，後得佛身。」

The sūtra states: Mahābalavān Bodhisattva said, "As for that single ground and the ocean of emptiness, are practitioners of the two vehicles unable to see them?" The Buddha said, "It is so. Those people of the two vehicles crave and are attached to samādhi, attaining a body of samādhi. Regarding that ocean of emptiness and single ground, it is as though they have contracted the sickness of alcohol, stupified and drunk without waking up, even for many kalpas still unable to awaken. Only when the alcohol wears off do they first awaken, only then cultivating this practice, and later attaining the body of a Buddha."
