初釋「如是」者，眾聖理教文義相應故也。亦可我傳文義，如佛所說也。是聖教義也。又信順辭耳。

First, in explaining 'Thus' (evaṃ): it is because the principle, teaching, text, and meaning of all the sages correspond. Alternatively, it means: I transmit the text and meaning as spoken by the Buddha. It has the meaning of the sacred teaching. Furthermore, it is a statement of faith and obedience.
