Second, the fragrant ocean upheld by the wind separately upholds the dwelling of the nature of ineffable Buddha-kṣetra worlds. Here there are two parts: first, prose; next, verses. The first text is divided into three: 1. a general explanation of the Buddha lands; 2. from 'There are some' onward, a specific explanation of their dwelling; 3. from 'Or [shaped like] Sumeru' onward, an explanation of the shapes of the worlds. There are twenty verses, which summarize the second passage in the preceding prose: the first one summarizes the nature and characteristics of the pure land; the next three briefly summarize the dwelling; the next five summarize the shapes and adornments; the next two explain the superiority or inferiority of the lands based on the depth of karma; the next three generally show the superior and inferior to serve as an expedient for entering the profound; the next two distinguish their formation; the next four explain the efficacy and power of the expedients that can accomplish them.
