First, as for praising the reasons and extent of the sage's virtues in attending to capacities: Indeed, the Tathāgata, the Great Sage, ever since he first awakened to the profound track, set out from apratiṣṭhita; harmonizing his spirit with the wondrous quiescence, his aspiration was exalted in bodhi. Therefore, he was able to plant seeds of the Way in the prior limit, accumulate wholesome karma in anātman, radiate correct wisdom in the vajra, and illuminate tathatā in the jñeya. Thus, without severing false conceptualizations, he soared beyond entanglements; without polishing his numinous mirror, it was perfectly luminous and equal to enlightenment. In the deep purity of Self and Purity, the utmost quiescence is nowhere hidden; his tracks congealed in Permanence and Bliss, there is nowhere he does not bestow [benefit]. He viewed saṃsāra and nirvāṇa as equally balanced; his virtues were replete and completely penetrating; his great wisdom was unimpeded; wondrously supreme were his liberation and upāya—it is truly so!
