Tenth, because it attains the fruit: to cause them to attain the fruit of knowledge and abandonment of the Buddha stage. This also has two kinds: first, the fruit of abandonment, which means the elimination of hindrances—namely, the 'Samantabhadra Chapter' explains that one hindrance is all hindrances, and the 'Lesser Characteristics Chapter' explains that one abandonment is all abandonments, expounded in detail below; second, the fruit of knowledge, which means the accomplishment of virtues, possessing the ten bodies, sovereign in conforming with or reversing throughout the three realms of existence, free from impediments between dependence and principal, as explained in the 'Inconceivable Chapter' and elsewhere. It is briefly by revealing these ten senses above that this scripture and its teaching arose.
