第三明立教差別者，略提十類：一敘古說、二辯是非、三述西域、四會相違、五明現傳、六定權實、七顯開合、八教前後、九就義分教、十以理開宗。

Third, explaining the distinctions in establishing teachings, ten categories are briefly raised: 1. Narrating ancient views; 2. Discerning what is right and wrong; 3. Describing the Western Regions; 4. Reconciling contradictions; 5. Clarifying present transmissions; 6. Determining the provisional and the real; 7. Revealing division and integration; 8. The sequence of the teachings; 9. Differentiating teachings according to meaning; 10. Opening schools based on principle.
