華嚴經探玄記 11.23

11.23

初顯名，一信佛因果淨心不壞；二慈與生樂；三悲能救苦；四施捨珍財；五無有疲倦者，策懃求法；六知諸經論書者，慧達教法；七善解世法者，俗智知宜；八慚愧者，輕惡崇善；九堪受者，堅固不退堪受法器；十供養佛如說行者，順佛興供順法修行。

First, revealing their names: 1. faith in the Buddha's cause and fruit, pure mind that cannot be destroyed; 2. benevolence, giving happiness to sentient beings; 3. compassion, capable of rescuing from suffering; 4. giving, relinquishing precious wealth; 5. tirelessness, diligently spurring oneself to seek the Dharma; 6. knowledge of sūtras, treatises, and secular texts, wisdom penetrating doctrinal teachings; 7. skillful understanding of worldly ways, conventional wisdom knowing what is fitting; 8. shame and conscience, despising evil and venerating goodness; 9. endurance and receptivity, solid, non-retrogressing, and fit to be a Dharma vessel; 10. making offerings to the buddhas and practicing as taught, making offerings in accordance with the buddhas and cultivating practices in accordance with the Dharma.
