初釋名者，往業所引報果名壽，任持色心不斷名命，品內辨此，故以為名。

First, explaining the title: the retribution fruit induced by past karma is called 'longevity' (shòu); maintaining physical and mental [continuities] without interruption is called 'life' (mìng). Within the chapter this is distinguished; hence it is taken as the title.
