15.77

初釋名，言如來者，標人顯德。相海者，依人顯相。福報奇狀炳著名相，相德廣多奧積如海。勘梵本，名如來十身相海品，以深廣之相在十身故。

First, explaining the title: the term 'Tathāgata' designates the person to reveal the virtue. 'Ocean of marks' reveals the marks relying on the person. The extraordinary and brilliant forms of karmic retribution are called 'marks'; the virtues of the marks being vastly numerous and profoundly accumulated are like an 'ocean.' Checking the Sanskrit text, it is titled 'Chapter on the Ocean of Marks of the Tathāgata's Ten Bodies,' because the deep and vast marks reside in the ten bodies.
