二來意者，若約遠，此與前品同，答普光會中後佛果德問。若約近，即前品總明果法，此品別顯相德故來也。

Second, the purpose of its occurrence: if viewed distantly, this is the same as the preceding chapter in answering the subsequent questions on the Buddha's fruition virtues at the assembly of universal light. If viewed proximately, the preceding chapter generally explained the fruition dharmas, while this chapter specifically reveals the virtues of the marks; hence it occurs.
