Tenth, regarding the door of establishment: Question: The gates of the Dharma are boundless; why does the text below elucidate only ten kinds? Answer: It is to demonstrate boundlessness. What are the ten? (1) Comprehensively elucidating the multiple conditions that bring about the realization of right enlightenment; (2) the body of right enlightenment; (3) verbal action; (4) wisdom; (5) objects [of cognition]; (6) practice; (7) bodhi; (8) turning the wheel of Dharma; (9) entering nirvāṇa; and (10) gaining benefit from seeing, hearing, venerating, and making offerings. These ten concisely subsume the karmic functions of the fruit of buddhahood, and therefore do not increase or decrease. These ten meanings apply throughout; they should all be understood as endowed in the preceding nine stages, and the remaining meanings will become apparent in the text below.
