18.80

第二「爾時善財」下依教趣入中，初念法熏修也、二「如是念已」下明身遊涉。前中，初一句總念前法、二「入菩薩」下六句明利他行、三「堅固菩薩」下十句明自分行成、四「逮得普眼」下十句明勝進行立。二身遊中，十二年者，古人云：自分勝進各修六度，故以表之。後漸至後處。

Second, from "At that time Sudhana" onward, advancing and entering according to the teaching: first, recollecting the Dharma to perfume and cultivate; second, from "having so recollected" onward, explaining the bodily journey. In the first, the first clause generally recollected the previous Dharma; second, the six clauses from "entering the bodhisattva" onward explain practices of benefiting others; third, the ten clauses from "firm bodhisattva" onward explain the fulfillment of practices of his own stage; fourth, the ten clauses from "attaining the universal eye" onward explain the establishment of practices of supreme progression. In the second, the bodily journey, "twelve years": ancient commentators say this represents the separate cultivation of the six pāramitās in one's own stage and in supreme progression. Afterwards, he gradually reached the subsequent place.
