八明其位者，若約三乘，此普賢等皆是十地已上菩薩，彼神王等多分並是隨類生攝，即是八地已上。若一乘中，如緣起際諸位皆齊，是故一人具五位，位位皆遍，收准之。

Eighth, 'clarifying their stages': if analyzed according to the three vehicles, Samantabhadra and the others are all bodhisattvas of the tenth bhūmi and above, and those spirit kings and others are mostly subsumed under birth according to species, which means the eighth bhūmi and above. If within the One Vehicle, in terms of the limit of conditioned arising, all stages are equal; therefore, one person is endowed with five stages, and each and every stage is all-pervading—one should understand [the rest] by analogy.
