20.31

第三幻智師範知識中，初舉法勸修內，童子師者，顯教導師範故也。名遍友者，謂遍於一切學類眾生悉為師訓，故以為名。二依教趣入中，先得法利益、二禮足辭退、三見敬申請，可知。四「答言」下應示己法界，為與童子法門同故，是故示彼童子令往問之。又釋：此童子則是法門，以名無二故、人法無礙故。

Third, in the spiritual friend of the teacher of illusory wisdom: first, within presenting the dharma and encouraging practice, 'teacher of boys' reveals teaching and exemplary instruction. Named Sarvamitra (Friend to All) means that he universally serves as an instructing teacher for all classes of learning sentient beings, hence the name. Second, in proceeding to enter according to instruction, first, attaining the benefit of the Dharma; second, bowing to the feet and taking leave; third, seeing, paying homage, and requesting—these are understood. Fourth, from 'he answered' onward should reveal his own dharmadhātu, but because his Dharma gate is identical to the boy's, he therefore points to that boy and tells him to go ask him. Another interpretation: this boy is himself the Dharma gate, because the name is not two, and because person and dharma are unhindered.
