4.23

一釋名者，四是數。諦是義，謂理實故能生無倒解，故俱名諦，即帶數釋。此品非是解四諦義，但明四諦名字不同，故名四諦品。

First, explaining the title: "four" is the number. "Truth" (satya) is the meaning: because it is real in principle, it can give rise to unperverted understanding; hence all are called "truths." This is an explanation that incorporates a numeral (dvigu / tatpuruṣa). This chapter does not explain the meaning of the four noble truths, but only clarifies the different names of the four noble truths; hence it is named the "Chapter on the Four Noble Truths."
