4.24

二來意，中五：一為釋成前品末權道之義；二依前身業，次辨語業故也；三前明能說之人名字不同，此明所說之法名字不同故來也；四答前問中佛說法問故；五為釋成前機所印成差別法中權教異相，故次來也。

Second, the purpose of its occurrence, in which there are five: first, to explain and complete the meaning of the provisional path at the end of the preceding chapter; second, following upon bodily karma, next discerning vocal karma; third, the preceding clarified the differences in the names of the expounding person, and this clarifies the differences in the names of the expounded Dharma, hence its occurrence; fourth, to answer the question regarding the Buddha expounding the Dharma among the previous questions; fifth, to explain and complete the different marks of the provisional teaching among the differentiated dharmas confirmed and reflected by the capacities above, hence it comes next.
