Fourth, Puṇyamati (Virtue Wisdom): because merit adorns wisdom. The ten verses are divided into four [parts]: the first four distinguish the faults of delusion: 1. grasping at marks; 2. clinging to views; 3. ignorance; 4. lacking the Dharma-eye. Another explanation: the first two give rise to delusion, and the latter two are delusion regarding phenomena. In the former: 1. clinging to the unreal as real; 2. grasping the inferior as superior; in the latter two: 1. being deluded about one's own mind; 2. being deluded about true emptiness. The next four distinguish the virtues of understanding: 1. seeking the Dharma-eye; 2. the mind being unattached; 3. possessing the pure eye; 4. being free from subjective and objective seeing. In the first two lines, non-seeing is seeing; in the lower two lines, seeing is non-seeing. The next one praises the Buddha for according with the Dharma to gather sentient beings, and the last one attributes merit [to the root].
