In the seventh part, verses, four lines make one verse, yielding one hundred and one and a half verses, divided into two: first, ninety-two and a half verses versifying the preceding teachings of the ten abodes; second, nine verses concluding with praise and encouraging practice. In the former, versifying the ten abodes makes ten sections. Pertaining to the first abode there are forty-six verses, divided into four: first, three verses versify the conditions and essence of the preceding generation of the aspiration [for bodhi]; second, thirty-two verses on the section of attaining the ten powers; third, from 'The bodhisattva having thus generated the aspiration' down, eleven verses versify the ten dharmas to be studied. In the second [group], there are also three: first, ten verses on the practice of the ten powers; second, two verses on generating the aspiration to seek the dharmas of the two truths to be known; third, from 'shaking' down, twenty verses on generating the aspiration to seek the Buddha's three karmas, wherein the first ten verses are bodily karma, second, from 'the ten directions' down, three verses are verbal karma, third, from 'all the ten directions' down, six verses are mental karma, and the one below concludes in praise. Furthermore, these vast three karmas are what is attained in this abode, meaning that the three karmas follow the practice of wisdom and so forth. In the third [group], versifying what is to be studied in superior progress: 'unretrograde teaching' means expounding the teaching that accords with correct principle without alteration, and also means the doctrinal teaching of this meaning of entering non-retrogression in the stages, and also because by according with this Dharma teaching one attains non-retrogression. The former is a karmadhāraya compound; the latter two are tatpuruṣa compounds. Among the ten dharmas of superior progress mentioned before, ten verses in sequence each versify one dharma, and the last one summarizes, which are all understandable. In the second abode there are six verses: the first two versify its own stage, and the latter four versify superior progress. In the third abode there are five verses: the first two are its own stage, and the latter three are superior progress. In the fourth abode there are six verses: the first three are its own stage, and the latter three are superior progress. In the fifth abode there are four and a half verses: the first three are its own stage, and the latter half clarifies superior progress. In the sixth abode there are five verses: the first four are its own stage, and the latter one is superior progress. In the seventh abode there are four verses: the first two are its own stage, and the latter two are superior progress. In the eighth abode there are five verses: the first three are its own stage, and the latter two are superior progress. In the ninth abode there are three verses: the first two are its own stage, and the latter one is superior progress. In the tenth abode there are eight verses: the first five are its own stage, the next one reveals virtue, and the latter two are superior progress. In the second major section, concluding with praise and encouraging practice, nine verses are divided into three: the first one summarizes praise of the ten abodes; second, seven specifically praise the first abode; the last one uses the first abode as a benchmark to reveal the subsequent ones.
