三宗趣者，明法不同有四種：一理法，謂真如性；二行法，謂六度等行；三教法，謂十二分教；四果法，謂菩提涅槃。今此正明行法兼明餘三，故以為宗。又此四中，依理起行、依行成果，教說前三，故唯四耳。

Third, regarding the central theme: the different clarified dharmas are of four kinds: 1. the dharma of principle, meaning the nature of true suchness; 2. the dharma of practice, meaning practices such as the six pāramitās; 3. the dharma of teaching, meaning the twelvefold scriptures; 4. the dharma of fruition, meaning bodhi and nirvāṇa. Now, this [chapter] primarily clarifies the dharma of practice while concurrently clarifying the remaining three; therefore, they are taken as the central theme. Furthermore, among these four, practice arises based on principle, and fruition is accomplished based on practice; the teaching preaches the former three; therefore, there are only four.
