二來意者，前明當位體德，今辨勝用趣後，義次第故，是故來也。又前明自分，今顯勝進，故次來也。

Second, regarding the purpose of its coming: the preceding [chapter] explained the intrinsic virtues of the stage itself; the present [chapter] distinguishes superior functions advancing toward the subsequent [stages]. Because of this semantic sequence, it comes next. Furthermore, the preceding [chapter] clarified the stage's own division; the present [chapter] manifests superior progression, hence it comes next.
