Second, concerning types, the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi says there are three: first, discernment of the emptiness of persons; second, discernment of the emptiness of dharmas; third, discernment of the emptiness of both. The Yogācārabhūmi also has three: preparatory, fundamental, and subsequently attained. There are also four discernments: first, directly realizing wisdom; second, subsequently attained wisdom; third, wisdom benefiting others; fourth, innate discernment. The ten discernments in the text below serve to manifest inexhaustibility, as should be understood there. Moreover, the Dà zhìdù lùn says: "If there is no prajñā, the five pāramitās are like the blind." Therefore, the eye of wisdom guides the rest, causing them to become pāramitās.
