Third, distinguishing according to following great compassion: the treatise names this "seeking liberation in other places." That all these ordinary people are foolish and inverted like this, and ought always to seek liberation within the ālayavijñāna and ādānavijñāna, is to bring up the correct to reveal the deviant. As for "yet they seek liberation elsewhere in the self and what belongs to the self," this shows that the deviant contradicts the correct. Because all foolish people turn their backs on the correct and follow the deviant, they are deeply pitiable. Below "this antidote," the citing of the sūtra to reveal the antidote can be known.
