In the first part, why is it that the Buddha was questioned, but Mañjuśrī answers? Because [his wisdom] is identical to the Buddha's wisdom; because his auspicious, wondrous wisdom penetrates the sea of lands; and because it increases the leaping joy in the hearts of all the bodhisattvas. Why does he not enter samādhi? Because faith has no distinct stage. Did the previous assembly have a stage? Because it was the fruit-virtue, which is profound and subtle. Are there no fruit-dharmas here? Because they serve to accomplish the causes, and generally possess broad causes. Praising it as rare is briefly due to two meanings: first, because this single assembly is identical to assemblies in all places throughout empty space and the dharmadhātu; second, because this is itself a Dharma gate; both are as expounded in the "Chapter on Enlightenment through Light."
