Seventh is the samādhi of exhaustively conforming to the world. Therein are seventeen verses and one line, divided into two: first, three lines mark the intent; second, from 'extensively conversant' downward, directly distinguishing the great function, within which are two: first, clarifying the karmic function of the body; second, from 'if seeing that the world lacks right views' downward, clarifying the karmic function of speech. Within the first are five: 1. conferring benefit as kings, ministers, and so on; 2. from 'or in the wilderness' downward, conferring benefit as inanimate things; 3. from 'if seeing the worlds' downward, conferring benefit as compassionate guides; 4. from 'incantations' downward, conferring benefit as sages (ṛṣis); 5. conferring benefit on sentient beings as non-Buddhists, causing all to attain liberation. Second, the karmic function of speech has three within: first, one gāthā makes a general presentation; second, specific revelation; third, from 'knowing all' downward, two lines conclude with the samādhi upon which [it] relies. Expounding the Dharma with single-mindedness is named samādhi.
