1.58

十因果者，若三乘但是因位。若一乘中或皆是因，以未是佛故；或俱是果，以竝是佛海印中現故，又乘解脫力入佛海故。或通因果，由前二義故。或俱非，以離性平等故。竝如下歎德中辨。

Tenth, cause and effect: if [according to] the triyāna, they are merely at the causal stage. If in the Ekayāna, either all are causal because they are not yet buddhas; or all are fruitional because they all manifest within the Buddha's sāgara-mudrā[-samādhi], and furthermore, relying on the power of liberation, they enter the ocean of buddhahood. Or they extend to both cause and effect by virtue of the preceding two meanings. Or they are neither, because they are free from intrinsic nature and equal. All these are analyzed below in the praise of virtues.
