2.33

十因果者，若三乘，但是因位。若一乘中，或皆是因，以未是佛故；或俱是果，以竝是佛海印中現故、又乘解脫力入佛海故；或通因果，由前二義故；或俱非，以離性平等故。竝如下歎德中說。

Tenth, 'cause and fruit': if according to the three vehicles, these are only causal stages. If within the One Vehicle, either all are causes, because they are not yet buddhas; or all are fruits, because they all appear within the Buddha's sāgara-mudrā, and also enter the Buddha-ocean by relying on the power of liberation; or they encompass both cause and fruit, by virtue of the preceding two senses; or they are neither, because they are transcendent of nature and equal. All are as explained below in praising virtues.
