1.81

初有無者，於八會中第二及七八，此三竝無加。第二位未成故，不入定故。第七行法，依解不異前故。第八如來自入三昧，不待加故。餘會非此，是故皆有。

First, presence or absence: among the eight assemblies, in the second, seventh, and eighth—these three have no empowerment whatsoever. In the second, because the stage has not yet been achieved, there is no entry into samādhi. In the seventh, because the practice relying on understanding does not differ from the preceding. In the eighth, because the Tathāgata enters samādhi of his own accord, without awaiting empowerment. The remaining assemblies are not like these, and therefore all possess it.
