12.19

第五父王宣誥，文分為二：初宣誥所因。以聞讚故，太子道深親承佛益，王機猶淺轉假他聞。二正以偈誥。偈有十一，分之為三：初三集眾勸觀、次七勅令辦供。鄭注《禮》云：巾，猶衣也。謂以繒綵衣帶於車。《廣雅》云：馭，駕也。餘並可知。後一偈勸齎供佛。

Fifth, the royal father's proclamation, the text divides into two: first, the reason for the proclamation. Because he heard the praises, and the crown prince's Way was deep so that he directly received the Buddha's benefit, whereas the king's capacity was still shallow and relied indirectly on hearing from another. Second, properly proclaiming with verses. There are eleven verses, divided into three: the first three assemble the multitudes to encourage viewing; the next seven command the preparation of offerings. Zheng's commentary on the *Liji* says: 'Jin' is like clothing; that is, using patterned silk clothing to band the carriages. The *Guangya* says: 'Yu' means to drive. The rest can all be understood. The final one verse encourages bringing offerings to the Buddha.
