16.4

二釋名者，謂體性至順調善曰賢，吉祥勝德超絕名首，即以此名。菩薩演說此法，賢即是首，賢首之品以當賢位之初，攝諸德故偏舉賢名。

Second, as for explaining the title: whose essential nature is supremely compliant, harmonised, and good is called 'Bhadra' (worthy); whose auspicious, superior virtues are supreme and peerless is called 'Śrī' (foremost). The bodhisattva who expounds this Dharma is designated by this very name: the worthy is precisely the foremost. The chapter of Bhadraśrī corresponds to the beginning of the stages of worthiness; because it subsumes all virtues, it specifically raises the designation 'worthy'.
