Fourth is according to the gate of pervasive consciousness, clarifying self and what belongs to self. That is, because the seventh consciousness perpetually grasps the eighth as the inner self, it is confused. Calling it what belongs to self, defiled by it, conceit arises; hence it is called self-conceit (ātmamāna). Pervading to the sixth [consciousness], inwardly it grasps one's body and outwardly grasps material resources, relying on oneself and disparaging others. Furthermore, this 'self' also includes the self of phenomena (dharma-ātman); if this affliction is exhausted, then all afflictions are exhausted; hence in the antidote it says 'exhausted without remainder'.
