Third is according to the gate of diseased behavior, distinguished into four parts. 'Part' means nature: each, based on a preponderance [of one], receives names such as greed, and is called 'unequal'; where all three parts are equally abundant, it is called 'equal parts', yet they do not go beyond the three. These three are specifically named the three unwholesome roots; hence in the antidote it says 'severing the roots'.
