第二「爾時」下重頌，分二：先敘儀意，於中初後二句說儀、入深句義者說依。「以無量」下亦是說依，依此說故；亦說所為，為此說故。後正陳偈詞。二十八偈分二：前八偈半頌所迴善根。前六四等：一慈；二悲；一偈半喜；一偈半捨，如地無心故；一偈結其普遍。後二偈半明六度。後「如是」下十九偈半頌迴向行，分二：前七偈半頌隨相，初一偈半頌利樂迴向、後六頌代苦迴向。餘略不頌。「未曾」下十二偈頌前離相，於中二：前五頌正明離相、後「十方」下七偈頌前成益，文並可知（自下入第二十四經）。

Second, from 'At that time' onward is the verse recapitulation, divided into two: first, narrating the intention of the manner. Within this, the first and last two lines state the manner; 'entering into the profound meanings of the lines' states that upon which it relies. From 'with immeasurable' onward is also stating that upon which it relies, because it is spoken in reliance on this; it also states that for the sake of which it is spoken, because it is spoken for this sake. Next, directly setting forth the words of the verses. The twenty-eight verses are divided into two: the first eight and a half verses praise the roots of goodness that are dedicated. The first six are the four immeasurables: one on loving-kindness; two on compassion; one and a half verses on joy; one and a half verses on equanimity, because it is mindless like the earth; one verse concludes their universality. The subsequent two and a half verses clarify the six pāramitās. Next, from 'Thus' onward, nineteen and a half verses praise the practice of dedication, divided into two: the first seven and a half verses praise following characteristics—the first verse and a half praises dedication for benefit and happiness, and the subsequent six verses praise dedication to substitute for suffering. The rest are omitted and not versified. From 'never yet' onward, twelve verses praise the prior freedom from characteristics. Within this, there are two: the first five praise the direct clarification of freedom from characteristics; the subsequent seven verses, from 'the ten directions' onward, praise the prior accomplishment of benefit; the text in both cases is understandable.
