6.10

五與眾生等者，慈障解脫也。離諸危怖曰安、適悅身心為樂，見佛則獲二利故安樂也，煩惱不生故得定也。佛德難思故樂定無邊，斯為大方便也。

Fifth, "giving to sentient beings, etc.," is the liberation from the obstruction of compassion (maitrī). Separation from all dangers and terrors is called peace; pleasing body and mind is called joy. Seeing the Buddha, one obtains both benefits, hence peace and joy; afflictions do not arise, hence one attains concentration. The Buddha's virtues are inconceivable, hence joy and concentration are boundless; this is a great skillful means.
